Since we are not always able to reply to emails immediately, don't hesitate on checking our FAQ page! This page is updated regularly so that our volunteers, users, and clients questions get answered immediately!

WHAT PRIMARY SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

We offer multiple services, such as community services, yard cleaning, garden building, poverty relief, and more! Visit our services page for a description of all of our services.

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR EVENTS?

To sign up for MiVolunteer and third-party events/campaigns, click on Volunteer under the Get Involved page and choose an opportunity you'd like to volunteer for and sign up. Remember, no interviews are required to volunteer at TMGRI.

IF YOU GET ACCEPTED INTO MIVOLUNTEERS TEAM, DO YOU GET PAID?

No, all staff/team members are amazingly committing their time voluntarily to help our charity and give back to the community with services.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENT BETWEEN MiSA and MiA?

The MiA Program is for people not in High School and is 18 years old or above, while the MiSA Program is for people who are in High School, which is the only difference. Other than that, both MiA's and MiSA's receive the same/similar tasks.

HOW DO I BECOME A STAFF MEMBER?

To become a staff member at MiVolunteer, go to our Careers page. From there, fill out the form. After we review your application, we will email you within 2-3 business days and schedule an interview where you will bring the following with you:

- A copy of your resume
- A student ID (if you're in High School)
- and any certificates that you think might help you with your application.

As a staff/team member of The Mississauga and GTA Relief Initiative, you will not receive a paid salary and instead will receive community service hours.

ON THE VOLUNTEER PAGE, ARE THE OPPORTUNITIES LISTED THERE THE ONLY ONES THAT ARE AVAILABLE?

Yes, they are. Opportunities on our events page are always coming and going. Though we still have opportunities such as MiVolunteer Student Ambassadors (MiSA), doing environmental activities, and volunteering for fundraisers.

HOW DO I RECEIVE MY COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS?

Please do not bring in a community service hours sheet from your school to be signed. You will receive your signed hours' sheet within 1-2 weeks after your shift(s) via email.

WHAT IF I CANNOT ATTEND AN EVENT?

If you cannot attend your shift(s), please inform us immediately as volunteers not showing up to events, campaigns, workshops, and environmental activities make it harder to complete due to the lack of volunteers.

IS THERE ON-SITE REGISTRATION?

Definitely! MiVolunteer accepts people if they'd like to volunteer ONLY for TMGRI and third-party events/campaigns. Just come to our MiVolunteer gazebo tent and sign in/up under the tent!

I DIDN'T SIGN OUT FOR MY SHIFT, WILL I STILL RECEIVE MY HOURS?

Unfortunately, no. Please remember to sign both in and out when on your shifts as if not done upon arrival or leave, your name will be crossed off, and you will not be receiving your community service hours.
